I love trees because they create synergy with the elements of sun, earth, water, air, and fire, as well as enabling life for so much fauna. They draw energy from the sun, hold water and transpire it, as part of the hydrological cycle, they breathe in CO2 and ‘exhale’ precious oxygen, they cycle nutrients through the soil, and they can provide habitat and fuel from their old branches or dead trunks. Some of them provide us humans with food for nourishment, such as this Mulberry I’m hugging, and they give us shade, refreshing aromas, beautiful flowers, and lower surface temperatures to provide more hospitable environments for living. They are the very embodiment of mother nature and are the true custodians of our earth.
