Penguin of Doom

I like penguins because they are very cute and I also like them because they walk in a funny way. I like the colours of a penguin and I also like the Arctic where they live.

Zooxanthellae

Coral reefs have lots of vibrant colour and my drawing shows the coral spitting out the zooxanthellae when the water is cold enough for a penguin.

Fight for the Reef

We are a Reef Guardian school at Kalkie State School and we do our bit to fight for the Reef

Climate change

Climate is changing, why aren’t we? Let’s the help the penguins by slowing down global warming.

Penguin tears

I drew a penguin crying with a broken heart, to show the devastating effect global warming is having on penguin habitats and their future.

I Care About Global Warming

I drew this picture to show the effect our gas emissions are having on penguin habitats.

The ice is melting despite us helping

Penguins are dying because of us. Global warming is destroying their habitat and even though we’re trying to reduce greenhouse gases, it’s still happening.

What has the world become?

My penguin is by itself, which represents it being solo and nothing else being around it. The single tear coming out of its eye represents how it feels about slowly losing its habitat because of global warming and the despair it feels about the future.

Before versus After

In my picture I drew what the coral reefs would look like before and after global warming. After global warming all the coral will have lost it’s colour and life. We have to do all we can to save our reefs or we’ll lose them.

Same, same but different?

I drew this picture because the penguins’ and the corals’ habitat are different but their homes are being destroyed by the same cause.

Save our coral reefs from bleaching

My picture is about what will happen to coral reefs if water gets too hot. On the left is a healthy reef and on the right is a bleached reef full of dead coral.

While I Still Can

This is me while I can still see the colourful corals and fish, spending all the time I can.

Save the Snow

I drew this picture to show snow is melting and turning into water, exposing rocks underneath the snow. This means the penguins have a sharp, rocky environment to live and lay their eggs.

Lost at Sea

My picture shows ice melting and falling apart and baby penguins are being separated from their families as a result, and can be eaten by larger animals.

They are the same but different

My drawing is about how climate change affects both penguins and coral reefs. My coral drawing shows how there are less animals and coral as a result of global warming. My penguin drawing shows the sun is out and the ice in the polar regions is cracking and melting.

Broken-hearted

My picture shows a penguin crying, broken-hearted because its parents died due to global warming. We are all responsible.

Fears for the future

My picture has a penguin standing on an iceberg. The puddle of water underneath the penguin represents two things – how the icebergs are melting and tears the penguins have shed. The black sky represents the bad things that are happening and the stars show hope and light in the dark.

Penguin problem

My picture symbolises how penguins are dying because the ice is melting and it’s too warm for penguins to survive. This is happening because of global warming and we need to do something to stop it.

Where has all the ice gone?

My picture shows a penguin sitting on a small iceberg because all the ice has melted. This symbolises the impact of global warming.

Help my home

My picture symbolises how icebergs are melting and penguins are losing their homes. It also symbolises how the ocean is getting too hot for fish and coral is bleaching. , Year 6, , Perth WA

Coral catastrophe

I drew a picture of sealife before global warming started destroying all the coral. This is what we need to work towards again.

Before and After

My picture symbolises penguins and coral before and after global warming. On the before side there are lots of penguin and sealife that are flourishing. After global warming, the iceberg is melting and the penguin’s parents are floating away. There are only a couple of fish left and there are crown of thorn starfish everywhere…  Read More
