Trees look after us

I grew up seeing trees as part of everyday life. I would like to live a hundred years and spend those last years sitting on a bench outside my farmhouse, watching how the trees around me grow old with me.

I love trees because they perform essential functions for the planet and for human life. And from a personal level, I love trees because my kids have always loved climbing them and it brings them joy and helps them stay connected to nature.

They are strong! This is a very old picture of me “hugging a tree for dear life”. Thankfully, my life was not actually in danger (and this photo is obviously staged) but I know that trees are dependable and will (hopefully) never let you down!
