2025 Hug a Tree Photos

Trees make me feel the warmest hug when I needed the hugs the most.

Truphena hugs a tree with her childhood idol, Juliani (https://www.youtube.com/@JulianiAfrica/). She says Juliani is ‘a true legend of music and political thought, the voice behind songs like Utawala, that have challenged minds and inspired generations. I’ve grown up jamming to his music, admiring his artistry and courage.’

In September 2022, Hurricane Fiona, one of the most powerful and damaging storms ever in Atlantic Canada, hit our little island home.…  Read More

I love trees because their beauty, age and texture all amaze me, and for the shade they provide.

I love trees because they provide homes for so many incredible creatures, from microbes to insects to birds, reptiles and mammals!

I was on a hiking trail with a friend, and we saw on the map that there was a very old tree with a story or legend associated with it. So I decided to take a photo with it for good luck 😅 It’s in a forest in the province of Barcelona.

I love trees because they are beautiful, and their presence is the best balm for the soul and the spirit. This was taken in White Gum Valley up the road from my house.

I love trees!

Ultimately, she had to choose a banyan (Ficus or fig) tree because this species is the first essay in her…  Read More
